We are a small parish that has been part of the community and history of Payson city. Maybe many of us know about Saint Andrew the apostle. He was born in the village of Bethsaida on the Sea of Galilee, and he and his brother Simon Peter were fishermen by trade, according to the scriptures that Jesus called the to be his disciples by saying that he will make them “fishers of men.” Andrew was a disciple of John the Baptist, whose testimony first led him to follow Jesus. Andrew at once recognized Jesus as the Messiah and hastened to introduce him to his brother Simon Peter. Thereafter, the two brothers were Disciples of Christ. Andrew is referred to as being present on some important occasions as one of the disciples more closely attached to Jesus. Andrew told Jesus about the boy with the loaves and fishes, with Phillip told Jesus about the Greeks seeking Him, and was one of four to hear Jesus’ teaching about what would soon happen. Saint Andrew was called to work hard to spread the good news on that time. His name means “manhood, brave.” I think that he was brave when building the Church. His mission was to build and consolidate a community of faith. We all have been called to work hard as Saint Andrew was. Very few even know what it means to build the Church. Building the Church involves much more than constructing buildings. Building the church means: evangelizing and being witnesses for Christ (Acts 1:8); making disciples of all nations (Mt. 8:19); and forming and developing small Christian communities (see Acts 2:42; 4:32). Doing the contrary will result as with the people of Haggai’s tie (1:1-8), this results in frustration, confusion, and discontent with parish life. “Without vision, the people perish.” The time has come to rebuild the house of the people perish.” The time has come to rebuild the house of the Lord. Therefore, “consider your ways”; build the Church and be happy.
Thank you for your interest in San Andres Catholic Church and welcome to our community of faith. Parish registration is important because we are especially interested in learning about our new parishioners and helping them to find ways to become involved in and connected to the parish.
Please note that any person who wishes to prepare for marriage, have their child baptized, or enroll a child in the parish Religious Education program must be a registered member of our parish, attending Sunday Mass here faithfully as recorded by the use of the Offertory Envelope.
You are invited to register at the parish office during office hours or by downloading and completing the registration form below. We are happy to provide you with additional information about our parish and ministries.
O Glorious St. Andrew, you were the first to recognize and follow the Son of God. With your friend, St. John, you remained with Jesus, for your entire life, and now throughout eternity.
Just as you led your brother, St Peter, to Christ and many others after him, draw us also to Him. Teach us how to lead them, solely out of love for Jesus and dedication to His service. Help us to learn the lesson of the Cross and carry our daily crosses without complaint, so that they may carry us to God the Almighty Father.

SAN ANDRES cATHOLIC CHURCH
There are many opportunities available for spiritual development at San Andres. We have an active prayer and worship ministry as well as several ongoing faith-sharing groups. We provide individual and family formation in addition to spiritual direction. We are energized by the challenges ahead of us as we progress on the journey from membership to discipleship.
